You are born on a cold Autumn morning, and there’s a thunderstorm outside. You have two older brothers who peek curiously at you in your pink baby softness but soon leave again, so as not to disturb you. You have two brothers, yes, but your mother only gave birth to one of them. That you don’t know, and you won’t ever know. Both of them are your bothers, and despite it all, you will love them. You are also the first girl to be born into the family and therefore, you are born a princess. A priceless little treasure that is meant to be pampered and protected. You are lucky to be born into your family, because you will get to grow sheltered from the cruel reality of the world bellow you. But right now, you're a baby, and none of this matters. two. There are certain things that are expected of you. You learn this at an early age, but it’s only when you get older that it really becomes clear. Your family isn’t just any family, and even though you were lucky enough to have been born into it, it takes more than just luck to live up to their standards. Yet, you do so without complaint. You pick the path of less resistance, because you know the less you fight, the easier it will be for you. And you make your parents proud. You don’t upset them, you don’t talk back to them. You do what they want without questioning them. Above all else, you become what could be called the face of your family, the gracious host that is always smiling for the cameras and the one that greets the important figures like you actually care for them. You make your family look good, and you know it. Whether you like it or not, is a completely different story. You don't slip up, but then again, you aren't allowed any slip-ups. three. Behind closed doors, you are a completely different person. Behind closed doors there’s no need to wear that perfectly crafted mask of yours. Behind closed doors, you don’t care. Pretending to be someone else doesn’t bring you any benefits behind closed doors, so you don’t even try to do it. And in all honesty, you wish your life could be different. You wish you could have grown like a normal child, and wish you could have a normal life, where you would be allowed to make mistakes again and again. But that really isn’t possible. And it isn’t as if you loathe the life you live outside, no. In fact, you kind of like it. But the truth is, you weren’t given much choice, and you wish you had. But at least, behind closed doors, you are allowed to act like the spoiled princess you are. Behind closed doors, you pout and whine and get your way. Behind closed doors you like to mess with other people’s lives. With the lives of those that are a part of your family, and that you love. But then again, if you didn’t love them, they would never see this side of you in the first place. Yes, you do love them. Even if you may still be unaware of that. She doesn’t have many problems with being the center of the attentions, and can deal with that kind of pressure just fine, because she pretty much grew up surrounded by people, and learnt from an early age how to act in said situations. She will look prim and proper; she will be incredibly polite and will look every bit like a model daughter. For her, it’s every bit like acting: pretending to be someone that you’re not. And of course, acting like that has its advantages both for her family and for her. She wouldn’t do it, if this wasn’t the case. Of course, that this mask will slip whenever she doesn’t see any benefit from wearing it. And in those occasions her cold personality will show. First and foremost, Avery isn’t the type to openly seek other people’s company. She prefers solitude and being by herself than surrounded with other people. She is a rather quiet individual, and most of the times, Avery simply prefers not to speak. Not to mention, she is quite sarcastic, and usually has some sort of witty response ready for every occasion. Avery doesn’t really trust people easily. Mostly because she doesn’t want them to see her real side, because she’s afraid of what might happen if they do. Therefore, she simply prefers not to let anyone get too close to her. And even those that are supposedly close to her, she doesn’t fully trust. In fact, the only people she might actually fully trust in are her family. And if it’s really hard to get her to trust you, it’s incredibly easy to make her loose that trust. You know forgive and forget? Well, Avery doesn’t. If you crossed her in any way, she will mark you. And she’ll hate you with a passion for the rest of her life. It’s not likely that she’ll let things slide, and depending on the offense, she might even go out of her way to make your life a living hell as revenge. Avery is an extremely organized person. Borderline obsessive actually. There is something about chaos that upsets her, and in her life almost everything must be organized and planned ahead. And while she isn’t exactly a fan of schedules, she does like to do things according to plan and think before she acts (maybe even overthink, in most cases). She is uncomfortable with doing things without planning and just letting herself go and worry about the fallout later. Usually, the pessimist side of her will take over and she’ll just start thinking about all the things that can (and most likely will, according to her) go wrong. | female.
