Actually, he was born the son of a very wealthy and influential man. His mother died only a few months after his birth though nobody knows the details and nobody dares to ask of them. His father put on his best front and pretended to be truly at a loss when he and his son suffered the death of his wife but behind closed doors his emotions over the situations were almost nonexistent. Of course, Harper was much too young to remember any of this since he was not even a year old. His father quickly remarried a woman and Harper learned to know her as mother. As he grew the face of his birth mother easily was swept under the rug and he would never even know of her existence. For as long as he could remember Harper knew what he was going to be when he grew up. He lived under the strict rule of his father and had to obey his every heed or else he’d earn himself a few bruises. The first thing that he had to obey was that his father already had his life sorted out for him. He would go into a military career. As a boy he was encouraged to be rough but obedient, silent when told, to never back down, and to always stand up for his home. When he was around other boys he was told to take charge and was scolded when he shied away from confrontation. His mother was not completely on-board with many ideas but kept her words to herself, only offering quite shakes of her head to show her disapproval. Because of this Harper always felt caught in the middle – should he please his mother or his father? In the end his father won. He did not win Harper’s heart but instead earned his fear. Failure was unacceptable and questioning anything that was said was just as unacceptable. Instead of joining any kind of normal school Harper was put into a military school. Harper always excelled academically. He had no problem covering any rigorous courses and would allow any mental challenge. Some people took note in this. No, they did not take note in the sense that they were just completely impressed. They took notice because of how mechanically Harper would do everything that he was told. He never complained and always held his tongue. Anything that was written was not filled with fluff but straight to the point and short. Anything that was pointless or pretty was just left out since it held no real need to him. This brought up the concern of Harper lacking very much personality. His father would allow no such accusations. Anyone who came to him with suggestions was always immediately shot down. According to him, Harper was a normal and healthy boy. He may have been a bit placid but he was in no means incompetent in any way. Nobody could bring up any arguments against that. Especially considering that Harper had done nothing wrong and some were simply afraid of his father. Once Harper had finished with his schooling he continued his life just as his father had planned it. Due to his school he managed to do well in Utopia’s military. He was offered some of the most desirable things and often looked on with envy by his peers. As soon as he was out of his father’s constant control though Harper began to let the emotions he had kept bottled up for so long explode into a constant rage. Whether it was a fight with fists or wits Harper would be involved and would never back down – just as he had been taught to do. He quickly began to accumulate enemies in every corner of his life. His half siblings despised him, his mother never looked forward to his company, and having friends became unthinkable. Even his father grew annoyed with hearing about him. But his father had much more to do with him despite this. He wanted Harper to be a golden child. He wanted him to be the perfect example of a good son. Not to mention, if Harper was all of these things that would make him look good. So when Harper was offered his first mission down to the Outlands his father encouraged it and Harper had no qualms. One mission turned into another and before he knew he was constantly wrapped up in the Outlands. He spent many nights patrolling the borders, hunting down threats, and fighting off the people who called themselves the newest resistance. He saw less and less of his home and was not so surprised to find that he did not care. It was a cold day in the month of December. Harper Kennedy was on duty beneath the city that he called home when he heard the sound of gunfire. He hurried to it not expecting to find the troops who were supposed to be backing him up unmoving on the ground. Before he had even gotten an opportunity to think a bullet hit him dead in the center of his chest. He stumbled but was not about to go down without a fight. Not until plenty of other bullets shot out at him until he finally joined his companions on the ground. He had died. Harper Lee Kennedy had two parents and three younger siblings. He worked for the military and was well known amongst his peers. He followed orders to the dot and gave them with ease. He had also technically never died. Not this Harper Kennedy. After the news of his son’s death the senior Kennedy was quick to act. There was some devastation in his death but grief could be a thing of the past, couldn’t it? Instead of releasing information regarding the death of his son Harper was simply cloned. All of the memories that could have haunted him were silently crammed into the deepest recesses of his mind or erased altogether. He was a fresh slate – a fresh Harper. Even though he was physically the same they were quick to learn that this Harper lacked the violent temper. He was calm and still managed to keep all of the memories necessary to live out the life the former Harper had left behind. Of course, Harper is not aware of any of this. He was told that he had suffered an injury from an explosive and the trauma from the blast had fuzzed his memories a bit. The only person who is aware of his condition is his younger brother and his father. It’s a big secret that neither of them plan on letting out. His moods do fluctuate much and people usually find him a bit dull. He is quiet and thoughtful of the things around him but also more than a little bit obviously trained. Emotions do not always translate well onto his face or through his voice and many people mistake this for a general uncaring for absolutely everything. This is not true however. Harper is curious about people (including himself) but this often conflicts with most of the things he knows. He was raised to be silent and not ask questions but his mind is constantly buzzing with ridiculous curiosities and he’s always finding himself questioning his own morals. Beneath his stoic features Harper can actually be quite the thoughtful person. He has a curious sweetness to him that he’s had yet to explore with most human beings. | male.
